Why Fattobene, why Amarelli:
Anna Lagorio is a young journalist, In 2015 she creates #Fattobene, a publishing project: the site www.fatto-bene.com, becomes an archive of “living icons”: “ordinary everyday objects, that with their innovation, simplicity, form, functionality or refinement have created over the years and in generations such appreciation and a desire to possess the object not only for the object itself but for the values that have contributed to making it happen. These objects transformed a daily gesture like use a notebook to use a glue or to eat a licorice, in a personal gratification. Objects of companies that made the “made in Italy” itself an icon of the “fattobene”, and that are still on the market! “I have traveled from North to South in search of all those objects that have always characterized our material culture, produced over time and beyond generations. I created a unitary story about Italy: Soaps, glues, notebooks, licorice have become the points of reference to talk about territories, visions of business, graphics and timeless design. Amarelli licorice: a magnificent story, a unique packaging, a timeless icon, almost a lifestyle ”
How did the project change over time?
In these four years we created the “Fattobene” pop pu Store format, we collected the stories of the product in a book published by Corraini and we involved an international community composed by journalists, curators, critics, but also design students and lovers of the industrial heritage. In 2019 we were invited by MoMA Design Store to open a Fattobene Pop-up at Soho in New York
