Delicious recipe of Brownies with Chocolate and Licorice

We present the recipe for a delicious dessert: Brownies with Chocolate and Licorice.
Small squares of Chocolate, with a thin crust on the outside and an irresistible dark heart on the inside. Brownies, typical sweets of American cuisine, are ideal as a dessert or even as a snack, enjoyed alone or accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Let’s find out together how to make an exquisite variant: the Liquorice one, prepared for us by Francesca Laruffa.

  • 5 eggs
  • 350 g of sugar
  • 150 g of flour
  • 100 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 50 g of chopped dark chocolate
  • half a teaspoon of salt
  • a teaspoon of licorice powder
  • 240 g of melted butter

  1. In a container pour the eggs and sugar.
  2. With the electric whisk, whip the mixture until it becomes frothy and lightened.
  3. Reduce the dark chocolate into small pieces.
  4. Melt the butter in a double boiler.
  5. Gently mixing, add the sifted flour, licorice powder, chopped chocolate, cocoa, salt and melted butter.
  6. Pour the mixture into a pan with a diameter of about 20 cm.
  7. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
  8. Bake in the oven for about half an hour, until a light crust has formed on the outside.
  9. Check the cooking with a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake: if it comes out moist it is ready. The result must be crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside.
  10. Let the browns cool completely in the mold before cutting into cubes.
  11. For a truly irresistible dessert, serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or with vanilla ice cream variegated with licorice.
