The word aphrodisiac derives from Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, beauty and sensuality. But what are the aphrodisiac foods that can awaken the senses? According to tradition, the foods that ignite the passion are shrimp, oysters, caviar, seafood and some spices such as nutmeg and cloves.

But in our Valentine’s Day risotto there are not only shrimps, there is also mango, not surprisingly known in some countries as the “fruit of love” because it is very rich in vitamin E, responsible among other things for regulating hormones. and increased desire.

To complete the recipe, Licorice cannot be missing, which according to a study conducted by Alan R. Hirsch, director of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, would be able with its perfume to stimulate female pleasure more than any other essence.

Now all that remains is to get in the kitchen and follow Francesca Laruffa’s instructions, to prepare this delicious and very simple Valentine’s Day aphrodisiac recipe!

Wine to match: Critone Librandi 2020, a Calabrian Chardonnay with fresh and savory notes to wrap the aroma of the red shrimp.
